Affirmation

I am the recipient of an unfathomable reward.

“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.”

We’re at the end of our Momma Affirmation series. It’s bittersweet, but there’s so many more things we can learn as mommas and I’m hoping to dive into all of them!! I also hope that this series touched your hearts in some way.

I love being a mom, but some days its so difficult. The kids can be unruly and uncooperative. Sometimes, especially towards the end of the week, it’s hard to get them to do anything. You try an be understanding and you try to build them up and you try to not raise your voice and sometimes you fail. You then beat yourself up for yelling at your children when you get frustrated and tell yourself that you’re not a good mom.

Or is that just me?

God has granted us this amazing season in our lives to allow us to learn and grow and lean on Him. He saw us and said: “She’s just who I need to be the mother of these children.” It wasn’t an accident that you’re their mom. The beauty of it all is that God won’t give you more than you can handle because your strength comes from him.

“I can do ALL things THROUGH Christ who strengthens me.” We aren’t doing this alone. God is walking beside us, gently guiding us through these moments. He’s given us an unfathomable reward in our children. A reward that we can’t think of or imagine. He has blessed us with this gift of motherhood and it can’t be taken lightly.

While being a mother doesn’t always feel like a blessing and you find yourself begging for moments of just quite, knowing that the creator of the universe choose you to be their momma is amazing. And I hope that this thought brings you some peace.
