God Says: Momma Affirmation 5

Affirmation

I am able to raise my children from a place of favor.

“Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.”
~ Proverbs 3:4

Have you ever thought that, maybe, you were created for something different than what you were currently doing? For example, when I was a manager at a local quick service food chain I felt like I was meant for something different. I wasn’t given the opportunities that I felt like I deserve and I was stuck. I was in a rut of anxiety and stress that caused my relationships to falter and my health to decline. I was miserable. I knew that I was meant for more.

For me, that looked like getting a “better” job, one where I felt more at peace, one where I was appreciated, and one where I was doing the things I loved to do. So I started looking and my husband and I came up with this idea that we were going to move jobs to… well, somewhere else. It seemed like the perfect thought process. Working 4 days a week, I work morning and he works evenings. It was a full proof plan… that didn’t work out.

This is when we decided that I would be a stay at home mom. I was worried because I wouldn’t be bringing in any income, and I’m known to be the “spender” of the family. But we prayed and sought God’s guidance and we rolled with it. It’s been almost 2 months since that happened and our family has never been stronger.

What does this story have to do with our affirmation today?

God has called me to be a mom and wife. This is why I’ve never really felt like I belonged in my job… because I didn’t. His plan for my life was SO much different than my plan for my own. When I stopped and obeyed his will, life got… better? I feel more at peace and my stress is less (lets be honest, my anxiety and stress will probably always be there).

When we become mom’s we are given a special annointing from God. He has given us favor. Do you know what the next verse says:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
~Proverbs 3:5-6

God’s plans are usually not our plans. In fact, at least in my life, our plans are so different than his that life can prove to be more difficult in the long run. He has blessed us with children to raise and he has given us favor to do so. But in order to receive that favor, we need to trust him, submit to his will, and walk in the way that he has planned for us.

I hope that this affirmation speaks to you today. Take it, write it down, and place it somewhere you can see it. I’m praying for you!

With Light and Love,

Lissie
